Following a very busy period of summer swimming, including the Paris Olympics, of course, Larne Swimming Club (LSC) was delighted to be one of four clubs nominated for Swim Ireland's Club of the Year - a huge honour in itself.

LSC was also nominated for and WON all three categories in which they were nominated in Swim Ulster's annual awards presented at the War Memorial Gala, this year held on 10th November. The moving ceremony is a tribute to the swimmers who fought in the First and Second World Wars and is a relay race format. Between the heats and finals, the annual awards are presented before all young swimmers line the pool paying their respects to the fallen, standing silently and respectfully whilst the buglers played Last Post and Reveille.

LSC was delighted to accept awards for Peter Hill (Performance Club Coach of the Year); Danielle Hill (Development Coach of the Year); and, Gillian Simpson (Volunteer of the Year). Congratulations to all nominees who do so much for our clubs around the country - and especially to these three outstanding individuals. We appreciate you!
