15 young Larne swimmers travelled to Bangor Aurora to compete in the Bangor Open Minor Gala.

The youngest members of the Team 9 year olds Sophie McClean, Phoebe Simpson, Oliver Smyth achieved Personal Best Times in all their events. Oliver Smyth was the top performer in this group. Oliver had a massive 13 sec Pb in 25 Breaststroke taking a silver medal, 6 sec pb in the 25 Free narrowly missing out on a Bronze medal and a good performance in the 25 Backstroke. In the 10 year olds Sophia Chowne, Cassis Thompson and Molly Kidd all achieved PBS in their events Eve McKeown achieved a 7 sec Pb in her 100 Breaststroke, as well as Pbs in the 50 Fly 100 Backstroke and 100 Freestyle. Owen Wasnidge was the top performer in this group achieving PBS in all events and taking Bronze in the 50 Breaststroke. in the 11 year olds Nathan Welsh, Andrew Cleland, Maya Niblock, Kate Clarkin and Abigail Davis all achieved Pbs. The top performers of this group are Charlotte Smyth and Sam Magee. Charlotte not only achieved 5 PBS but also took Gold in the 50 Freestyle, Bronze in 100 Freestyle and Bronze in 50 Butterfly. Sam took Gold in 100 Butterfly, Silver in 50 Backstroke and 100 Backstroke and Bronze in 100 Breaststroke. Congratulations to all the Larne Team.

The swimmers are a credit to the Club both for their behaviour at the gala and for their achievements. Thanks to all the parents for bringing them along and for your support poolside. Special thanks to Gillian.
