Aquasprints 2024

#letsmakesomenoise

'Aquasprints are a great first step into the competitive world of Swimming. They are ultimately designed to be fun and stress-free racing, as you are not competing for yourself but instead to gather points for Team Larne. I remember captaining the Larne Aquasprint team in 2011 to becoming Division 1 Champions...the memories that both myself and my parents have of Aquasprints are nothing but positive and happy ones.'

Aquasprints #1 of 2024 is a WIN

What a GREAT start to the 2024 Aquasprint season. A total of 37 swimmers across our 3 junior squads made up our biggest Aquasprint team in a few years! Of those 37 swimmers, 17 of them competed in their first ever Aquasprint & they did not disappoint. Lots of _extremely close races_, but even better finishes from Team Larne saw us on the right side of the points to get our season off to a winning start.  Great skills were shown throughout all squads, and as always, Larne cheerleaders were in full voice. Thank you to Mid Ulster Swim Club for making the trip and contributing to such a great first gala. Well done everyone!

Larne kicked off their third Aquasprint of the season against Olympia Swimming Club at the  Falls Road Leisure Centre in the blistering sunshine.

The absence of diving blocks certainly did not affect the performance of the swimmers, with  the final scores being 170 to Olympia and 230 to Larne!

A massive congratulations to all swimmers who swam their hearts out and had great fun. It is  very pleasing to see a fantastic team spirit surrounding the entire group.

A special thank you to Olympia Swimming Club for being terrific hosts, as well as all the  volunteers for their commitment to running a successful event.

A busy weekend of racing for Team Larne.

Saturday night saw the long awaited return of the Aquasprint season.

A tough, but very enjoyable and exciting, showdown with Portadown saw us on the wrong end of the result…171 - 229.

However, I was swiftly reminded why I love being part of this team, from the non-stop cheering to the smiles on everyone’s faces, I couldn’t be prouder to coach this bunch of amazing athletes. -

An early start this morning saw the swimmers back in action at the Swim Belfast Open Meet where again they did not disappoint. PB’s and even more cheering and smiling than the night before.

They never cease to amaze me! Thank you @swimbelfast for a great meet and to all volunteers making it possible. Well done to all swimmers for a fantastic weekend of fast racing!

Danielle.
